Astell&Kern KANN CUBE Digital Audio Player (DAP)
Astell&Kern designed the KANN CUBE with powerful output and low noise in mind. You’ll see these principles at work in its Mini-XLR out, jaw-droppingly low noise floor, and three power output options.
There are plenty of digital audio players (DAPs) on the market but only one with a mini-XLR out. Providing an even lower noise floor and higher audio output than headphone jacks, the mini-XLR out offers a clean, powerful solution for connecting the KANN CUBE to a home theater system.
Beneath the KANN CUBE’s smart, wolf gray chassis lie two ES9038PRO SABRE DACs, the vanguard of decoder technology, touting the industry’s highest dynamic range (DNR) of 132dB in a 32-bit, 8-channel DAC. In plain English? Your brother-in-law’s fancy home theater system is going to sound like a thrift store boombox by comparison.
Three Power Output Options
Whether you listen to IEMs or power-hungry planar magnetics, the KANN CUBE’s got you covered. With High/Mid/Low power output options for each of its balanced and single-ended outs, it can output between 2 and 12Vrms, powering whatever pair you throw its way.
Cleanliness is Next to Godliness
With a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 117dB (128dB w/ XLR) and total harmonic noise plus distortion (THD+N) at 0.0004% (similar w/ XLR), the only sound the KANN CUBE produces is music pure enough to send the angels scrabbling for tissues.
Would you die a little if we told you that MP3 files deliver just 10% of original studio recordings? That’s one-tenth of the nuance, depth, and richness that the artist intended for you to hear. MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) files, on the other hand, deliver the full, uncompressed sound of the original master recordings in all their richness. The KANN CUBE supports this technology, delivering the best possible version of the music you love.
