The SMSL D-6 arrives hot on the heels of SMSL’s other mini DAC, the SU-6. The biggest difference between these models is that the D-6 is fully balanced, whereas the SU-6 is not. The D-6 features dual DAC chips and balanced TRS outputs for seamless connection to a balanced amplifier.
The return of AKM
With dual AKM DAC chips and a 2nd gen XMOS chip, the D-6 DAC supports balanced audio of up to 32-bit/768kHz PCM and DSD512.
Bluetooth 5.1
A built-in high-end QCC5125 Bluetooth 5.1 chip supports SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX HD, and LDAC. The corresponding format will be displayed on screen for convenience.
RCA and TRS balanced outputs
Attach a single-ended amplifier via RCA or go fully balanced with TRS balanced outputs.
