final tuned the D8000 Pro with recording engineers in mind. Often required to listen to music at louder volumes than ordinary consumers, recording engineers frequently face a problem: low frequency ranges become more pronounced than other frequency ranges as the volume is turned up. final has tuned the D8000 Pro in such a way as to fix this issue, improving clarity when listening at higher volumes.
Air Film Damping System
In conventional planar magnetic headphones, the low frequencies often drop off, resulting in weak bass extension. The D8000 Pro solves this problem with the Air Film Damping System (AFDS). An Air Film between the diaphragm and the magnets works to extend bass frequencies for fuller low-end coverage.
Easy to repair
Repairs, mods, and upgrades are simple with the D8000 Pro. Almost every part was designed for easy disassembly. If something breaks, even a small internal part, you can easily disassemble the housing and replace or repair it.
Manufactured in house
final controlled the entire manufacturing process of the D8000 Pro, from sourcing raw materials to assembling the product at their factory in Kawasaki. Even the jigs used in production were produced by final, ensuring a high level of precision when manufacturing the individual parts of the headphone.
Newly developed open-type ear pads
With most open-back headphones, bass frequencies are difficult to boost because they leak out of the back. Using AFDS and open-type ear pads, the bass frequencies of the D8000 Pro have been boosted wonderfully. The ear pads are made of highly-breathable foam and specialized fibers, with a supple Toray ultra-suede for the parts that come into contact with skin.
