Apos Community Announcement - Website Update
To our community and any folks who may be finding us for the first time,
Apos has a new look today and represents the first step of many in a holistic experiential change to make Apos a special venue for our community. Not all our goals will be achieved with this first step, but we are laying the foundations, which we hope give you a sense of what we are doing and where we are going.
Our goal in the near term is for Apos to be the following:
-
A venue for enthusiasts, and not just an e-commerce website.
-
A community that engages with us, with our curated group of collaborators, and with each other.
-
Be a high-quality resource of information, products, and experiences.
This redesigned website is the first step towards this goal, with the changes focusing on what we are great at and amplifying that strength.
“Enthusiast” is one of those loaded words that can mean any number of things to as many different people, but for us, an enthusiast is more than a label; it is a mindset. A mindset of caring, of questioning the dogma, and diving into the deep to gain as much knowledge as possible. Whether it’s starting a hobby, shopping for that new something, or just because you were curious—the willingness to always be learning and continually questioning your own accepted truths.
Apos-the-venue has to capture this ethos. At this first stage we want the website to be a powerful tool for audio enthusiasts, but ultimately we want Apos to be a venue for everyone who embodies this mindset. With this goal in mind, we are making changes, and I am highlighting a few of the key ones below.
-
Home Page Improvements – We wanted the Apos home page to feel like an enthusiast magazine. The home page allows you to pursue different enthusiast journeys. We have redone the Navigation Bar to make it simpler and more intuitive.
-
Search – We’ve worked hard on our “Search” and made it more qualitative and suggestive.
-
Product Discovery Filters – Apos as a product discovery tool needs to meet the needs of an enthusiast. This means we need to surface the specifications that an enthusiast cares for instead of just providing glamorous imagery. We have worked hard to do this and will continually work on improving our filtering.
-
Apos 𝒙 Discovery, Status, and Participation – We launched Apos 𝒙 last year as a platform for collaboration, where we can bridge the gap between designers, consumers, and manufacturers. The start to this program has been thrilling and the reception has been amazing. We are making the platform, the people behind the platform, and resulting products from this platform easy to discover and check the status of.
-
The Community of Apos – The Community is our soul and we want to lay it bare for all to see. We are bringing our community forward, showcasing Collaborators, our Team, and have plans to showcase our community members.
This is the first step of many, and I want to give a heartfelt thank you to the Apos Team for all their effort to get to this point. Special mention to our Architect Extraordinaire Sean Flynn. Huge thanks to Gardner “Tom” Mounce, Alex Peterkin, Richard Gao, and Joy Hortizano.
We look forward to any feedback that you might have about the changes - good, bad, and so-so. Please feel free to leave feedback in this form or send me an email at kunal@apos.audio.
Regards,
Kunal
