New from xDuoo: DP-01 Desktop Streamer

The xDuoo DP-01 is a desktop network audio streamer designed to add Hi-Res wireless playback and multi-room functionality to your existing audio system. Built around a Cirrus Logic CS43198 DAC and a quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 processor, the DP-01 supports PCM playback up to 768kHz/32-bit, DSD512, and MQA decoding while handling streaming through AirPlay, DLNA, UPnP, and Roon-compatible network environments. 

With analog RCA output alongside USB, optical, and coaxial digital outputs, it can function as both a standalone streamer and a transport for external DACs or downstream components.

Dual-band Wi-Fi and wired Ethernet connectivity allow the DP-01 to integrate into both wireless and fixed network installations, while the compact aluminum chassis and onboard display make it great for desktop systems, stereo racks, powered speakers, and whole-home audio applications.

Wireless streaming and network playback

AirPlay, DLNA, and UPnP support allow the DP-01 to receive high-bitrate wireless audio streams directly from phones, tablets, computers, and compatible applications. Services including Apple Music, TIDAL, Spotify, Qobuz, and Roon-managed libraries can be streamed over the network with decoding handled internally by the player.

The DP-01 also supports playback from NAS systems and shared network storage, allowing local music collections and cloud streaming services to coexist within the same playback environment. Wired 100Mbps Ethernet provides a stable connection for fixed installations, while dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi gives flexibility when running cables is impractical.

Cirrus Logic DAC architecture and Hi-Res decoding

A Cirrus Logic CS43198 DAC chip boasts low-noise operation and wide-format compatibility. The analog stage supports PCM playback from 44.1kHz to 384kHz, DSD64 through DSD256 via DoP, and MQA decoding through the RCA line output. USB digital output supports up to PCM 768kHz and DSD512, allowing the DP-01 to function as a network transport for external DACs capable of handling higher-rate formats.

The analog section measures 0.0003% THD at 1kHz with a 127dB signal-to-noise ratio and 118dB crosstalk performance. Low residual noise and channel separation help maintain signal integrity when paired with sensitive downstream amplifiers or active speakers. The RCA output delivers a standard 2.0Vrms line-level signal for compatibility with integrated amplifiers, headphone amplifiers, and powered speaker systems.

Processing platform and playback control

An audio-grade quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 processor handles streaming protocols, playback management, and system navigation. The processor balances low power consumption with stable audio processing performance for uninterrupted playback across both local and network sources.

A built-in 1.9-inch TFT color display shows playback status, audio format information, network status, and system settings directly on the device. The DP-01 also includes a stepless volume control for precise output adjustment, along with selectable digital filter settings and display controls for system customization.

Multi-room audio and connectivity options

The DP-01 supports synchronized multi-room playback across compatible networked devices, allowing audio distribution throughout multiple listening spaces while maintaining independent volume adjustment for each zone. Playback control can be managed from a connected phone or network control application.

Digital connectivity includes USB-A, optical, and coaxial outputs for integration with external DACs, AV systems, or digital amplifiers. Optical and coaxial outputs support PCM playback up to 192kHz along with DSD64 via DoP. Analog RCA output allows direct connection to traditional stereo amplifiers, active speakers, or compact desktop systems without requiring additional conversion hardware.

Power management and daily operation

Integrated sleep timer and automatic power-off functions reduce unnecessary power consumption during idle periods. Playback duration can be scheduled before shutdown, allowing the DP-01 to operate continuously in a fixed listening system without requiring manual power management.
