A DAC designed for high fidelity
An AKM flagship DAC chipset—AK4191+AK4499EX*2—decodes your digital files. Each channel is handled by a dedicated AK4499EX, improving channel separation and dynamic range. The design also incorporates AKM’s "DWA ROUTING" technology, ensuring a clean background and detailed sound reproduction.
Discrete Class AB amplification
The K17 features a fully-discrete Class AB transistor current amplification headphone amplifier. Using ON Semiconductor MJE243/253 transistors, this design delivers high current with low output impedance. The result is 4000mW+4000mW of balanced output, enabling it to drive a wide range of headphones.
Analog and digital—separate power supplies for cleaner audio
By keeping the power supplies for the digital and analog circuits separate, the K17 reduces interference and crosstalk, giving you purer audio signal, free from unwanted noise or distortion.
Multi-stage analog power supply
The K17's analog circuitry benefits from a multi-stage power supply, with dedicated power control circuits for different stages of the signal path. Secondary voltage regulation with low-noise TPA7A47/7A33 LDO regulators ensures steady, clean power delivery for uncompromised audio performance.
PEQ that doesn’t compromise quality
A built-in M21586Q DSP chip enables a 31-band high-precision lossless PEQ. Unlike traditional EQ systems that can degrade audio fidelity, this PEQ preserves signal integrity while allowing you to fine-tune your sound.
Low-noise, high-stability clocking
Three ultra-low phase noise femtosecond crystal oscillators—ACCUSILICON AS318-L (45.1584MHz, 49.1520MHz) and AS318-Pro (24.576MHz)—ensure precise timing for digital audio conversion. This reduces jitter and maintains signal accuracy across various sample rates.
3.93-inch touchscreen
A large, easy-to-read touchscreen makes navigating the K17’s functions straightforward. Combined with an infrared remote, it puts control at your fingertips whether you're fine-tuning settings or switching inputs.
Wired and wireless—your choice
With both Gigabit Ethernet and 2.4G/5G Wi-Fi, the K17 offers stable, high-speed network connectivity. Stream lossless audio without dropouts or interruptions no matter how you prefer to listen.
Physically separated boards reduces interference
