High-Resolution Streaming DAC/Amp

The AUDALytic AH90 is a compact desktop streamer, DAC, and headphone amplifier built with network playback, high-resolution decoding, and both balanced and single-ended headphone listening in one clean component. It combines AKM’s AK4499EX DAC architecture, an AK4191 modulator, XMOS XU316 USB processing, FPGA-based signal handling, Roon Bridge, UPnP, HQPlayer NAA, MQA support, and a built-in headphone amp with 4.4mm balanced and 6.35mm single-ended outputs.

Separate digital and analog architecture

At the center of the AH90 is an AK4499EX DAC paired with an AK4191 modulator. This separates digital processing from analog conversion, helping reduce interference at the source. Each channel also gets independent power supply and grounding, giving the DAC section a cleaner foundation for detailed, low-noise playback.

FPGA control for cleaner signal handling

The AH90 uses FPGA processing for signal routing, clock management, PLL, DoP decoding, and silent PCM/DSD switching. In plain terms, the FPGA helps organize the digital side of the unit before conversion, so your music moves through the device with tighter timing and fewer unnecessary interruptions.

Network streaming built in

Connect the AH90 to your network and use it as a streamer through Roon Bridge, UPnP, and HQPlayer NAA. It also supports AirPlay, Spotify, and Tidal, giving you a practical way to play from the services and libraries you already use without needing a separate streamer on your desk.

High-resolution USB decoding

The XMOS XU316 USB stage supports PCM up to 768kHz, DSD512, and MQA 8X, which gives the AH90 plenty of format coverage for high-resolution libraries, desktop playback, and modern streaming workflows.

Balanced and single-ended headphone listening

The built-in headphone amplifier gives you both 4.4mm balanced and 6.35mm single-ended outputs. Balanced output reaches up to 1000mW at 64Ω and 32Ω, while single-ended output reaches up to 500mW at 32Ω. Two gain levels help match the amp to different headphones, from easier desktop pairs to more demanding models.

Independent headphone and line-out control

The AH90 includes independent switches for headphone and line-out operation, making it easier to move between headphone listening and feeding an external amplifier or powered speakers. RCA and XLR outputs are included, so it can sit at the center of a headphone desk or a compact two-channel system.

Flexible digital and analog connections

The rear panel includes USB-C, LAN, optical, dual coaxial inputs, RCA line outputs, XLR line outputs, AC power input, and DC 12V input, which gives the AH90 enough connection flexibility for a computer, network library, CD transport, digital source, or external amplifier.

Low-noise power design

A low-noise integrated power supply supports the AH90’s internal circuits, while an external DC 12–15V input gives you another power option. The unit also includes a CK01 clock module with femtosecond jitter clocking, designed to support more precise timing through the digital stage.

Compact desktop footprint

At 8.7 in × 6.7 in × 2.0 in (220mm × 170mm × 50mm), the AH90 fits neatly on a desk, media shelf, or headphone station. The OLED screen includes adjustable brightness and a screen saver, and the included remote gives you basic control from across the room.
