Something that weighs less than a golf ball shouldn’t sound this good, yet here we are. With 32bit/384kHz sample rate support, lossless Bluetooth, and three outs, the FiiO M5 packs more features into its minuscule proportions than some players quadruple its size.

The M5 is powered by the Ingenic X1000E Processor, a 1GHz microprocessor known for its ultra-low power consumption (<200mW) and lightning fast boot time (<1s).

Lossless Bluetooth 

Gone are the days of downsampled Bluetooth woes. Featuring Qualcomm’s flagship CSR8675 chip, the M5 can send and receive lossless sound (24bit/192kHz). 

USB, Headphone, and Coax Outs

This isn’t a one-trick pony. It’s like a sixteen-trick pony. It features a headphone out, coaxial out, plus a USB out that works as both an audio out and an asynchronous USB DAC. Both modes support 32bit/384kHz and DSD128, and the USB audio out also supports DoP/D2P. 

Up to 2TB of Storage

Although the M5 doesn’t provide internal storage, it does support microSD cards up to 2TB. Will that be enough? Put it this way. Given that CD-quality FLAC files run roughly at 5MB per minute, you could pack about 277 days’ worth of music into this little guy.

13.5 Hours of Music

The FiiO M5 has a playback time of 13.5 hours, meaning that it can outlast a non-stop drive from Philly to Atlanta (although your lower back might not).
