SA 1976 Keycap Set
A classic returns with a fresh profile
When the 1976 set first hit Geekhack, it was a jolt of color in a beige world. Designed by Engicoder, it flipped the script on what keycaps could look like—ditching tradition and launching the ship of a thousand gradients. Nearly a decade later, Salad has brought it back, working directly with the original designer to remaster the set in a new profile and dye-sublimated legends.
Long live the 70s
Sky-blue. Red. Orange. Yellow. Brown. The SA 1976 colorway is pure 1970s Americana—from lava lamps and wood-paneled walls to shag carpeting and roller rinks. And if you want to fully embrace the spirit of the decade, throw on a set of the novelties with its smiley faces, flowers, and peace signs. Alright, alright, alright.
Legends that don’t flake out
Each key is made from thick ABS plastic using the dye sublimation process, which fuses the legend into the surface of the cap. No fading, no flaking. Just far out legends that stay crisp for decades to come.
Classic Cherry profile
This reissue swaps the tall curves of SA for the lower, sculpted shape of Cherry—one of the most beloved profiles in the mechanical keyboard world. It's as comfortable and familiar as a shag-carpeted basement.
