CD PLAYER/ SPEAKER/ RIPPER

The SNOWSKY BEATBOX is an all-in-one portable CD player and stereo speaker system. It combines a custom-engineered anti-skip CD mechanism with a three-driver speaker system, 3.5 mm headphone output, one-touch CD ripping, LDAC Bluetooth reception, FM radio, USB playback, and AUX input. A user-replaceable 3350mAh battery and swappable faceplates extend the idea further, making the BEATBOX a portable music system for CD collections, digital libraries, headphones, and everyday speaker listening.

A three-driver stereo speaker system

The BEATBOX uses two 4Ω 3W mid-high drivers alongside a dedicated 4Ω 5W woofer. The separate woofer handles low-frequency reproduction while the two full-range channels provide stereo playback, with the acoustic structure developed through dedicated tuning, structural refinement, and custom tooling.

Playback can also be routed through the 3.5 mm headphone output. Its output impedance remains below 1Ω, which limits frequency-response interaction with low-impedance, multi-driver earphones. THD+N measures below 0.02% at 1kHz and -10dB into 32Ω, while an A-weighted SNR of at least 90dB and noise floor below 5.5μV define the headphone circuit's measured noise and distortion performance.

CD playback and one-touch WAV ripping

Compatible CD-DA discs can be played through the integrated speakers or connected headphones, covering both room playback and private listening from the same transport. A one-touch ripping function converts compatible CD-DA discs directly to lossless WAV files on connected USB storage. This provides a straightforward way to digitize CDs for local playback, car systems, or archival storage without routing the disc through a computer first. The ripping function supports FAT32-formatted USB storage devices, with USB Type-C drives of 32GB or less recommended for optimal operation.

LDAC Bluetooth, USB, FM, and AUX playback

The BEATBOX extends beyond its CD transport with Bluetooth, USB, FM, and AUX operating modes. Its BT8961 Bluetooth chipset supports SBC and LDAC reception, allowing compatible source devices to transmit audio using LDAC's higher-data-rate Bluetooth codec. Computers and external media players can also be connected through the AUX line input.

USB playback supports MP3, WMA, WAV, and FLAC files at sampling rates up to 48kHz. An integrated FM tuner adds terrestrial radio reception, while Pop, Retro, Jazz, Rock, Dance, Hip-Hop, and Classical EQ presets provide selectable frequency-response profiles for different material and listening preferences. Playback information is shown on the LED digital display, and an infrared remote control is included.

A replaceable 18650 battery

Rather than sealing its battery inside the chassis, the BEATBOX uses a removable 3350mAh 18650 cell with an integrated protection board. The battery can be replaced by the user as it ages or swapped when additional portable runtime is needed. Charging uses a 5V⎓3A USB Type-C input and takes approximately two hours.

Battery life varies by source and output method. CD playback reaches approximately 8.5 hours through headphones or 8 hours through the speakers. Bluetooth operation extends this to approximately 20 hours with headphones or 15 hours with speaker playback, while FM mode provides around 16.5 hours through headphones or 9.5 hours through the integrated speakers.

Swappable faceplates and portable controls

The 190 × 190 × 36.5mm chassis weighs 615g and is available in black or white. Swappable DIY faceplates allow the front of the player to be changed independently of its core hardware, giving the BEATBOX a customizable exterior without altering the playback system itself.

Its CD transport, speaker system, headphone stage, wireless receiver, radio, and USB functions are integrated into the same enclosure, with an LED digital display for status information and the included infrared remote for control at a distance.
