NEW: HIFIMAN ARYA WIFI PLANAR MAGNETIC WIRELESS HEADPHONES
HIFIMAN Arya WiFi planar streaming headphone
The HIFIMAN Arya WiFi is a planar magnetic headphone with a fully-integrated streaming and playback system built into the headphone itself. Rather than relying on an external DAC, amplifier, or source device, it incorporates a Wi-Fi streaming module, HIFIMAN's HYMALAYA Mini DAC, and a built-in Class-A headphone amplifier. Designed to stream directly from services including Spotify, Qobuz, TIDAL, and Roon, the Arya WiFi combines network audio playback with HIFIMAN's latest planar magnetic driver technologies while also supporting Bluetooth and USB audio connectivity.
Wi-Fi streaming without an external source
Most wireless headphones depend primarily on Bluetooth transmission, where available bandwidth often requires some degree of audio compression. The Arya WiFi uses a built-in Wi-Fi streaming platform that connects directly to a local network, allowing music services to stream straight to the headphone without routing audio through a phone, tablet, or computer.
This architecture places decoding and playback inside the headphone itself. By eliminating the need for an external DAC or amplifier in Wi-Fi mode, the signal path remains self-contained from network stream through analog amplification, supporting lossless playback from compatible streaming services while avoiding the bandwidth limitations associated with Bluetooth transmission.
Integrated DAC and Class-A amplification
Inside the Arya WiFi is a complete audio chain normally found in a dedicated desktop system. The internal Wi-Fi module handles streaming duties, while HIFIMAN's HYMALAYA Mini DAC performs digital-to-analog conversion before the signal passes through a low-pass filter and a built-in Class-A headphone amplifier.
Integrating these stages into the headphone allows HIFIMAN to control the entire playback chain from source to driver. Housing the DAC and amplifier alongside the transducer removes dependence on external hardware and ensures the planar driver is driven by a dedicated amplification stage designed specifically for the headphone's operating requirements.
Planar magnetic driver with stealth magnet technology
The Arya WiFi uses HIFIMAN's planar magnetic driver architecture combined with the company's stealth magnet design. Planar magnetic drivers operate by distributing force across a thin diaphragm, allowing it to move evenly across its entire surface. This approach helps maintain low distortion while preserving fast transient behavior during complex musical passages.
The stealth magnet structure is designed to reduce airflow interference around the diaphragm as it moves. By minimizing turbulence created by the magnet array, the driver can operate with fewer acoustic obstructions, supporting consistent performance across the frequency range while preserving detail retrieval.
Neo Supernano diaphragm Gen.2 and updated ergonomics
At the center of the driver is HIFIMAN's second-generation Neo Supernano diaphragm. The diaphragm is approximately sixty percent as thick as the original design, reducing moving mass and requiring less energy to accelerate and stop. Conductive plating across the diaphragm helps maintain uniform interaction with the magnetic field, allowing force to be distributed evenly across the driver surface.
The headphone also adopts a second-generation composite headband that reduces overall weight by approximately 20 to 30 grams compared to the previous design. Rotating hinges improve positioning flexibility, while the suspension-style headband distributes weight across a larger contact area for extended listening sessions.
Flexible connectivity and onboard controls
The Arya WiFi supports three playback modes: direct Wi-Fi streaming, Bluetooth wireless playback, and USB audio operation. Bluetooth compatibility includes LDAC, aptX HD, aptX, AAC, and SBC codecs, providing support across a wide range of mobile devices and operating systems. USB-C audio mode allows the headphone to function as an external DAC and amplifier when connected directly to a compatible computer or source device.
Physical controls located on the earcup allow users to manage power, volume, and playback functions directly from the headphone. The integrated battery provides approximately 6.5 to 7.5 hours of playback during Wi-Fi streaming and up to 23 hours in Bluetooth mode. Charging is handled through the USB-C port and typically requires around three to four hours.
