NEW: XDUOO MT-02 HYBRID CLASS-A TUBE HEAD AMP
1500mW CLASS-A HYBRID TUBE AMP
The MT-02 is a desktop hybrid tube headphone amplifier that combines dual 6J1 vacuum tubes with a transistor-based Class-A output stage. By using tubes for voltage gain and a solid-state output stage for current delivery, the amplifier blends the harmonic character commonly associated with vacuum tubes with the drive capability required for a broad range of headphones. With both 4.4mm balanced and 6.35mm single-ended headphone outputs, selectable gain, pre-out functionality, and premium analog components, the MT-02 is designed for desktop headphone systems and compact two-channel audio installations.
Hybrid tube architecture with a Class-A output stage
The MT-02 uses dual 6J1 vacuum tubes in the voltage amplification stage, where they shape the incoming signal before it reaches the transistor-based Class-A output section. This hybrid topology separates voltage gain from power delivery, allowing the amplifier to retain the tonal characteristics of the tube stage while relying on solid-state devices for current output and load control.
The Class-A output stage delivers up to 1,500mW into a 32Ω load, with output power rated at 900mW into 75Ω, 700mW into 100Ω, 500mW into 150Ω, 300mW into 250Ω, 250mW into 300Ω, and 130mW into 600Ω. The amplifier maintains a frequency response of 10Hz–60kHz (±0.5dB), THD+N of ≤0.1% at 1kHz into 32Ω, a 118dB signal-to-noise ratio, and crosstalk of at least 73dB.
Headphone outputs and desktop integration
Front-panel 4.4mm balanced and 6.35mm single-ended headphone outputs support the most common wired headphone connections. A selectable gain switch offers +12dB and +18dB settings, making it easier to match amplifier output with headphones of different sensitivities and power requirements.
The integrated pre-out allows the MT-02 to operate as a tube preamplifier for an external power amplifier or powered speakers. Output level remains synchronized with the front-panel volume control, allowing the amplifier to serve as the central volume control for a desktop or compact stereo system.
Analog components and protection features
The analog circuit incorporates ELNA audio coupling capacitors alongside Rubycon filter capacitors to support stable power delivery and consistent analog signal performance. An external ground terminal provides an additional grounding point that can help reduce hum caused by grounding differences between connected equipment.
An intelligent relay protection circuit delays audio output for approximately 30 seconds during startup while the vacuum tubes reach operating conditions. The same protection system also reduces power-on and power-off pop noise while providing overload and short-circuit protection for both the amplifier and connected headphones.
