YuLong himself was working as an engineer in the Chinese telecoms industry, but also had a passion for audio design, which he practiced as a hobby since he was a student. In 2009, he decided to make the bold move of quitting his day job and focusing on audio full time, starting with DAC/Amps built at entry level price points but with an engineer enthusiast's quality.
