The BTR5 2021 is FiiO's flagship portable Bluetooth DAC/Amp. With an updated ESS Hyperstream III DAC chip, better performance, and MQA support, the 2021 version takes the popular pocketable to new heights.
Portable is an understatement
The BTR5 2021 is small. Like, just barely win a height contest to a golf tee small. Share a weight class with a toothbrush small. At 2.8” on its longest side and weighing just over an ounce, the BTR5 2021 can share a pocket with your phone and you might not even notice it.
The Double DAC
Don’t let its humble dimensions fool you: the BTR5 2021 packs a punch. Its two ESS SABRE ES9219C digital-to-analog converters (DACs) boast -114dB THD+N and 130dB SNR.
It's all in the balance
The BTR5 2021 has both balanced and single-ended outputs. In its balanced audio architecture, each channel is driven separately with its own DAC and amplifier, ensuring unmatched finesse.
Asynchronous decoding
With an XMOS XUF208 control chip, the BTR5 2021 is capable of asynchronous audio decoding via USB. It can decode up to 384kHz and Native DSD.
State-of-the art Bluetooth 5.0
Gone are the days of lousy bluetooth downsampling. Boasting Qualcomm’s flagship Bluetooth 5.0 chip, the CSR 8675, the BTR5 2021 supports 24-bit transmission of lossless codecs: AAC, SBC, aptX, aptX LL, aptX HD, and LDAC.
MQA mode
A new addition to the BTR5 2021 is support for MQA, allowing for high-res, master-level sound quality in reasonably-sized files that are suited for your mobile device.
Independent dual crystal oscillators
If you’re going to decode massive 24-bit lossless codecs, you better have a plan for reproducing them accurately. Fortunately, the BTR5 2021 includes dual crystal oscillators. These 45.1584/49.152 crystals eliminate jitter for a super stable sonic experience.
Supercharged
With a built-in 550mAh battery, the BTR5 2021 only takes an hour and a half to fully charge but lasts up to nine hours!
Crystal clear calls
Take a phone call with the BTR5 2021's built-in omnidirectional microphone or use an external 3.5mm headset. Either mic benefits from cVc 8.0 noise cancellation technology, which intelligently adjusts the microphone gain and effectively suppresses background noise for crystal clear calls.
Auto USB mode
When a USB connection is detected, the BTR5 2021 will automatically prompt you to turn on "USB Audio Adapter" mode, which turns off charging to the BTR5 2021 and allows you to use it as an audio dongle for your phone or other devices.
