The Audeze LCD-5s is a flagship over-ear, open-back planar magnetic headphone built around nano-scale Parallel Uniforce drivers and SLAM acoustic management for fuller bass extension and more natural midrange. It's paired with upgraded sculpted earpads and lightweight carbon fiber and magnesium structure for long listening sessions. 

Nano-scale diaphragms with SLAM acoustic management

The LCD-5s pairs Audeze’s nano-scale driver diaphragms with SLAM acoustic management to “supercharge” the driver. It aims for more robust, extended bass response while keeping the midrange natural and composed.

Spatial detail you can actually follow

The same SLAM-driven tuning is designed to heighten spatial detail, which is great when you want to track placement in dense recordings and pick out small movement in reverb tails and room cues. It’s the kind of presentation that's perfect for focused listening.

Fluxor magnets and Fazor phase management

The planar driver uses a Fluxor magnet array with Neodymium N50 magnets, plus Fazor phase management to control how the wavefront behaves as it leaves the driver. That combination is intended to keep transients clean and imaging stable, especially when the mix gets busy.

Upgraded earpads for long-term comfort

The LCD-5s includes newly redesigned sculpted earpads with improved contact surfaces and fewer seams for improved comfort over long listening sessions.

Materials that keep weight down

Carbon fiber and magnesium structures help keep the overall weight low for a flagship build, while copper accent parts and deep-gloss tortoiseshell acetate earcup rings add a refined look. 

Power guidance for real-world pairing

With 30 ohms impedance and 90 dB/1mW sensitivity, the LCD-5s will benefit from a capable headphone amp (Audeze lists a minimum power requirement of >100 mW and recommends >500 mW).
