Network streaming power amplifier

The FiiO AIR AMP combines network streaming, local music playback, high-resolution decoding, and high-power speaker amplification in one compact component. A TI TPA3255 amplifier stage delivers up to 120W + 120W into 4Ω with the included 48V/5A power supply, while an XMOS XU316 USB interface and dedicated ESS ES9020Q DAC handle high-resolution digital audio. Roon Ready, AirPlay, QPlay, NAS playback, USB storage support, Bluetooth, wired digital inputs, and analog input give the AIR AMP the flexibility to anchor a modern two-channel system.

Compact power for a streamlined HiFi system

The AIR AMP brings decoding, amplification, network streaming, and local playback into a chassis measuring approximately 8.15 x 7.40 x 1.65 in (207 x 188 x 42 mm). It can replace several separate components in a bookshelf, living-room, or desktop system while providing the power needed for many passive bookshelf and small-to-medium floorstanding speakers.

TI TPA3255 amplification

The TI TPA3255 Class D amplifier combines high conversion efficiency with low distortion. With the included 48V/5A adapter, AIR AMP delivers at least 120W + 120W into 4Ω at less than 1% THD+N and at least 90W + 90W into 8Ω. A compatible 48V/10A power supply can increase maximum output to at least 235W + 235W into 4Ω at less than 10% THD+N.

PFFB feedback for consistent speaker performance

A classic post-filter feedback, or PFFB, circuit feeds the amplifier output back into the control loop after the output filter. This helps reduce distortion and limits changes in frequency response caused by different speaker impedances, supporting more consistent performance across compatible loudspeakers.

Roon Ready, AirPlay, and QPlay streaming

The AIR AMP supports several ways to move music from your devices and services into your speaker system. Roon Ready integration connects it to a Roon library, AirPlay provides convenient playback from compatible Apple devices, and QPlay supports direct playback through QQ Music.

NAS and USB storage playback

Your music library does not need to live on a streaming service. AIR AMP can play files from NAS storage across the local network as well as connected USB drives and portable hard drives. Music selection and playback are available through the FiiO Control app, providing direct access to locally stored albums and high-resolution files.

Seven input options and three outputs

USB, optical, coaxial, Bluetooth, local playback, network streaming, and RCA line input cover a broad range of digital, wireless, and analog sources. Speaker output drives passive loudspeakers directly, while dedicated subwoofer and preamp outputs make it easier to expand the system with an active subwoofer or separate downstream amplification.

XMOS XU316 and ESS ES9020Q decoding

A 16-core XMOS XU316 handles the USB audio interface, with support for PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz and native DSD512 through USB DAC playback. A dedicated ESS ES9020Q DAC performs digital-to-analog conversion before the signal reaches the amplification stage, giving digital sources a purpose-built signal path from decoding through speaker output.

High-resolution local and network playback

Local and streaming playback support PCM up to 32-bit/384kHz and DSD256. Coaxial input supports PCM up to 24-bit/192kHz and DSD64, while optical input supports PCM up to 24-bit/96kHz. These formats cover a wide range of standard and high-resolution music libraries.

Selected audio-grade components

The analog and power sections use selected audio components including four WIMA film capacitors, two 2200μF Nichicon capacitors, four Rubycon film capacitors, and four ELNA coupling capacitors. These parts support the amplifier’s power delivery and signal conditioning throughout the circuit.

10-band PEQ and AUTO EQ

Sound tuning is available through both the FiiO Control app and a web interface. Built-in presets provide quick tonal adjustments, while AUTO EQ and 10-band parametric EQ allow more detailed control of frequency response for specific speakers, rooms, or listening preferences.

Independent bass and treble adjustment

Independent bass and treble controls provide a ±10dB adjustment range. They offer a direct way to compensate for speaker placement, room acoustics, recordings, or personal tonal preferences without requiring detailed PEQ editing.

Dual-band Wi-Fi and gigabit Ethernet

Dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi supports flexible placement around the home, while the gigabit Ethernet connection provides a dedicated wired option for network streaming and NAS playback. Both connection methods support integration into a home network without relying on Bluetooth for every listening session.

Bluetooth 5.2 with LDAC

Bluetooth 5.2 reception supports SBC and LDAC. LDAC provides a higher-bandwidth wireless option when paired with a compatible source device, making AIR AMP useful for quick playback when a full network streaming connection is not needed.

App and infrared remote control

The FiiO Control app provides access to network configuration, track selection, playback, and sound adjustment. The included infrared remote handles everyday controls such as input selection, volume changes, and EQ preset switching from across the room.

Included 48V/5A power supply

A 48V/5A power adapter with 7909 DC connector is supplied with AIR AMP, allowing the amplifier to deliver its specified 120W + 120W output into 4Ω without requiring a separate power-supply purchase.
