From your desk to your pocket, the one that does it all

The BTR17 pulls together FiiO’s years of DAC and amp design into a device small enough for your pocket but strong enough for your desk. With dual ESS flagship DACs, THX AAA amps, desktop-class power, and a precision power system, it delivers sound quality normally reserved for bulkier gear. Whether you’re streaming wirelessly, plugged into your laptop, or running it in desktop mode, the BTR17 offers flexibility without compromise.

A new chip era of lossless Bluetooth

At its core is Qualcomm’s flagship QCC5181 Bluetooth platform, supporting Bluetooth 5.4 and codecs like LDAC, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and more. That means you’re getting CD-quality wireless playback at over 1.2Mbps—well beyond older formats like AAC or aptX HD. With Snapdragon Sound support, the BTR17 keeps your wireless listening detailed, clean, and consistent.

Independent power supply for “boosted” performance

A dedicated desktop mode switch and external power port let you bypass the internal battery and draw power directly over USB. This prevents overcharging and protects long-term battery health while unlocking higher output power.

One switch, three uses

The three-way PC/BT/PHONE switch makes it simple to move between devices. As a PC DAC, it runs fully off your computer’s USB. In Bluetooth mode, the internal battery takes over. When connected to your phone, it balances power draw between its own battery and the phone’s, keeping both running longer.

XMOS 16-core XU316 for smooth USB audio

USB playback is handled by the XU316 chip, a flagship XMOS controller with wide format support—up to 768kHz/32bit PCM, native DSD512, and full MQA decoding. Its extra processing power also drives the BTR17’s 10-band PEQ, letting you fine-tune your sound all the way up to 192kHz.

Sound tuning at your fingertips

The onboard 10-band PEQ gives you surgical control over frequency, gain, and Q. Save and share EQ curves, correct headphone quirks, or experiment with custom tunings. A side shortcut button gives you instant access to your stored profiles.

Dual DACs, four channels of refinement

Two ESS ES9069Q DACs bring fourth-gen HyperStream architecture, offering a dynamic range of 130dB and THD+N of -120dB. Translation: a black background, vanishingly low distortion, and a more natural flow of music.

THX AAA 78+ headphone amp

Borrowed from higher-end FiiO models, the THX AAA 78+ amplifier runs in a fully balanced four-channel design with eight op-amps in parallel.

Desktop-class power in your pocket

Flip on desktop mode and the BTR17’s amp can deliver up to 650mW+650mW at 32Ω from the balanced output—over double what the BTR7 was capable of. Enough headroom for full-size headphones.

Multi-stage HiFi audio architecture

The BTR17’s internals mimic the design of larger digital audio players, with discrete digital clocks, DAC stages, and multi-stage analog processing. Each section has its own power rail for cleaner signal handling and wider dynamic range.

Multi-stage power supply, carefully managed

A three-stage, ten-rail power design handles filtering, boosting, and voltage stabilization independently. Separate rails for digital, DAC, and analog amplification circuits keep noise isolated, while protections for temperature and DC output add safety for both your headphones and the device.

Flagship design touches

The volume knob uses a pressable, 3D-engraved aluminum mechanism tested for tens of thousands of cycles. The 1.3-inch IPS display adapts its color scheme to the active audio format. The aluminum chassis with bonded raw leather backing feels solid and comfortable in hand.

A complete portable and desktop solution

With both 3.5mm and 4.4mm outputs, CTIA control support, driver-free UAC1.0 mode for Switch and PS5, and compatibility with the FiiO Control app, the BTR17 covers daily and enthusiast needs alike.
