















FIIO EA13 Full-Size Vacuum Tube Power Amplifier
28W Class-A Stereo Tube Power Amp
The FIIO EA13 is a pure Class-A push-pull vacuum tube amplifier built around two SYLVANIA NOS PCF80 preamp tubes and four JJ ELECTRONIC EL34 power tubes. It delivers up to 28W + 28W of speaker output, with dedicated 4Ω and 8Ω connections, four RCA analog inputs, a 6.35mm headphone output, mechanical VU meters, and a stepped high-precision analog volume control. Its custom output transformers and carefully selected internal components support the warm tonal character and controlled output associated with traditional tube amplification.
Six imported vacuum tubes
Voltage amplification is handled by two SYLVANIA NOS PCF80 tubes from the American tube manufacturer, while four Czech-made JJ ELECTRONIC EL34 tubes provide the power amplification stage. Together, they give the EA13 its smooth, full-bodied tube character while maintaining an open and natural presentation.
Class-A push-pull amplification
The EA13 uses a pentode-mode, pure Class-A push-pull circuit inspired by classic tube amplifier designs. Speaker output reaches 28W + 28W at either 4Ω or 8Ω at THD+N below 5%, providing useful power for many bookshelf speakers and selected floor-standing models. At THD+N below 1%, rated output is at least 18W + 18W.
Custom output transformers
Custom EI silicon-steel output transformers are designed for wide bandwidth and low noise. Each transformer is internally filled with epoxy resin and fine sand before being sealed inside a protective enclosure. This construction helps reduce vibration while providing electromagnetic shielding and moisture protection.
Rigid aluminum construction
The front panel is CNC-machined from aviation-grade aluminum, then thickened and sandblasted for a solid, finely textured finish. A unibody chassis adds structural rigidity and electromagnetic shielding. Recessed tube mounting, an integrated protective cover, side ventilation grilles, and vibration-damping feet support safe operation and stable placement.
Stepped analog volume control
A stepped high-precision analog potentiometer provides 40 levels of volume adjustment. Precision resistors are matched at each increment to maintain consistent left and right channel balance while reducing the imbalance and long-term wear associated with conventional carbon-film potentiometers.
Mechanical VU meters
Dual-channel mechanical VU meters provide a visual indication of signal level, with warm LED backlighting controlled by a dedicated IC. The needles respond directly to the music signal for a traditional analog display.
Audiophile-grade internal components
Axial metal-film coupling capacitors are selected for low loss, low distortion, and stable electrical performance. Large-capacity Japanese NCC filter electrolytic capacitors support the amplifier's power supply and help maintain a low-noise operating environment.
Flexible analog connectivity
Four RCA analog inputs accommodate sources such as streamers, turntables with a suitable phono stage, CD players, and DACs. Gold-plated binding posts provide separate 4Ω and 8Ω speaker connections, while the front-panel 6.35mm headphone output supports headphones from 16Ω to 300Ω.
12V trigger control
A dedicated 12V Trigger In connection allows the EA13 to power on and off in coordination with compatible audio components, making it easier to integrate into a multi-component HiFi system.
Direct front-panel control
A four-position input selector provides clear tactile switching between connected sources. The left control also manages knob illumination and VU meter backlighting through single- and double-press commands.
Automatic low-power standby
A precision signal-detection circuit continuously monitors the selected input. After 30 minutes without an input signal, the EA13 automatically enters low-power standby, reducing energy use and unnecessary operating time on the tubes.
Adjustable RGB lighting
Lighting around the two front-panel knobs can be adjusted to suit the surrounding space and complement the warm amber glow of the vacuum tubes. The illumination can also be switched off when a more understated appearance is preferred.
