FiiO K17 R2R desktop Audio hub

The FiiO K17 R2R is an all-in-one desktop DAC, streamer, preamplifier, and headphone amplifier built around FiiO's proprietary 24+5-bit segmented R2R PRO resistor array. Designed for both headphones and two-channel systems, it combines fully-balanced circuitry, powerful discrete Class AB amplification, network streaming, high-resolution USB decoding, and extensive PEQ functionality in a refined desktop component finished with genuine North American hardwood side panels.

Proprietary R2R architecture

At the heart of the K17 R2R is FiiO's proprietary 24+5-bit segmented R2R PRO resistor array. The upper five bits use thermometer-coded decoding to minimize the cumulative errors found in traditional ladder DAC designs for a presentation that retains the natural warmth and smoothness associated with R2R conversion while improving accuracy and lowering distortion.

Real wood construction

The K17 R2R pairs precision-machined aluminum with imported North American hardwood side panels. The silver model features white ash, while the black model uses black walnut. Because each wood panel is naturally unique, every unit has its own one-of-a-kind appearance.

Streaming without limitations

Built-in network functionality allows the K17 R2R to play music from virtually every modern source. Roon Ready, AirPlay, QPlay, and NAS playback over SMB or NFS provide convenient access to streaming services and personal music libraries. Gigabit Ethernet and dual-band Wi-Fi deliver stable high-resolution playback throughout the home.

Eight operating modes

The K17 R2R adapts to a wide range of desktop and home audio systems with dedicated modes for streaming, local playback, USB DAC, Bluetooth reception, optical input, coaxial input, balanced analog input, and single-ended analog input. Whether serving as the centerpiece of a headphone system or as a digital hub for powered speakers or amplifiers, it integrates with your existing equipment.

Advanced DSP with 31-band PEQ

A dedicated M21586Q DSP performs 64-bit floating-point processing at 360 MHz, enabling a 31-band lossless parametric equalizer across all operating modes. Users can adjust gain, Q values, dynamic range processing, limiters, and compressors without unnecessary sample-rate conversion. PEQ profiles can also be imported, exported, and shared.

AUTO EQ support

AUTO EQ simplifies headphone correction by automatically applying target response curves with a single selection. Built-in presets for popular listening styles are included, while every frequency band remains available for manual fine tuning when more precise adjustments are desired.

Discrete Class AB headphone amplifier

The fully-discrete OP plus transistor current amplification stage uses ON Semiconductor MJE243 and MJE253 output transistors to deliver high current with low output impedance. Balanced output reaches over 4,000 mW per channel into 32 ohms, providing the power needed for demanding full-size headphones while maintaining excellent control with sensitive in-ear monitors.

Fully-balanced signal path

Balanced circuit architecture extends from digital conversion through current-to-voltage conversion, low-pass filtering, and headphone amplification. Multiple low-noise Texas Instruments operational amplifiers help maintain excellent channel separation, wide dynamic range, and low distortion throughout the signal chain.

Separated internal architecture

Independent circuit boards isolate digital, analog, and power supply sections to reduce interference between subsystems. This layout contributes to cleaner signal integrity and improved overall performance.

Linear power supply

A custom 35-watt linear transformer and five large 4,700 μF capacitors provide substantial current reserves. Separate analog and digital power supplies, multi-stage voltage regulation, and premium low-noise LDO regulators further improve stability for sensitive audio circuitry.

Precision clocking

Three ultra-low phase noise femtosecond oscillators—including two ACCUSILICON AS318-L clocks—provide precise timing for multiple sampling frequencies, reducing jitter and preserving fine musical detail across supported digital formats.

Premium internal components

High-quality Nichicon, ELNA, Rubycon, Panasonic, and WIMA components are used throughout the analog circuitry alongside silver-plated oxygen-free copper wiring and gold-plated Neutrik connectors to support reliable long-term performance.

Dual-processor platform

An Ingenic X2000 processor works alongside an ESP32-S3 controller to provide responsive touchscreen operation, reliable streaming performance, and smooth system navigation.

Intuitive controls

A 3.93-inch touchscreen, five dedicated control knobs, an included aluminum infrared remote, and compatibility with the FiiO Control app provide multiple ways to manage playback, EQ, streaming functions, and system settings.

Comprehensive protection

Integrated protection circuits monitor amplifier temperature, transformer temperature, output overload, DC offset, and power input conditions to help safeguard both the K17 R2R and connected headphones.

Comprehensive connectivity

USB, Bluetooth 5.1, coaxial, optical, balanced analog, single-ended analog, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, headphone outputs, RCA outputs, and balanced XLR outputs make the K17 R2R suitable for everything from desktop headphone systems to dedicated stereo installations.
