The iFi audio UP Play and UP Play Max are ultra-compact USB-C Bluetooth transmitters designed to expand the wireless audio capabilities of phones, tablets, computers, gaming systems, and other USB-C devices. Both support wireless audio up to 24-bit/96kHz, LDAC, multiple aptX codecs, low-latency playback, dual-headphone pairing, and integrated microphone functionality. UP Play Max adds Bluetooth 5.4 and aptX Lossless for CD-quality lossless transmission with compatible equipment.

Expand your Bluetooth codec options

Connect either transmitter to a compatible USB-C device to access a broader selection of Bluetooth codecs. UP Play supports LDAC, aptX Adaptive, aptX Low Latency, aptX HD, aptX, AAC, and SBC. UP Play Max adds aptX Lossless alongside Bluetooth 5.4. This expanded codec support is particularly useful with compatible Apple devices that normally transmit Bluetooth audio using AAC.

Stream Hi-Res audio up to 24-bit/96kHz

Both models support wireless transmission at resolutions up to 24-bit/96kHz. LDAC provides a high-resolution Bluetooth option on UP Play and UP Play Max, while the Max model adds aptX Lossless for CD-quality lossless transmission when the source material and receiving headphones or earbuds are compatible.

Restore harmonic detail with K2 Technology

iFi incorporates K2 Technology into both transmitters to restore high-frequency harmonic content in digital audio. The processing is designed to give music a more natural presentation and can be switched on or off through the iFi Nexis app.

Keep games and video in sync

A dedicated low-latency mode helps reduce the delay between on-screen action and Bluetooth audio during gaming and video playback. Low-latency mode is available on both models and can be activated through the iFi Nexis app.

Share audio with two listeners

Dual-headphone pairing lets UP Play and UP Play Max transmit to two pairs of compatible Bluetooth headphones or earbuds simultaneously. When two listening devices are connected at the same time, audio is transmitted using the SBC codec.

Handle calls and voice chat

An integrated microphone extends either transmitter beyond music and video playback. Qualcomm noise and echo suppression processing helps maintain speech clarity during hands-free calls, online meetings, and in-game communication.

Control playback features with iFi Nexis

The iFi Nexis mobile app provides access to connected-device and playback controls. Use it to manage paired devices, view and control active codecs, toggle K2 Technology, activate low-latency mode, and install over-the-air firmware updates. The app is available through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

UP Play and UP Play Max measure just 1.1 x 0.8 x 0.3 inches (27.6 x 20.8 x 8 mm) and weigh 0.1 oz (3.0 g). Their compact USB-C design makes them easy to carry with portable devices or leave connected when space is limited.
