The iFi iDSD Diablo 2 is a high-power portable DAC and headphone amplifier built for  desktop-grade power in a portable form. It combines extreme output voltage, multiple power modes, xMEMS compatibility, and modern Bluetooth with aptX Lossless, all powered by an internal battery.

Power modes that adapt to your headphones

The Diablo 2 gives you three selectable power modes so the amplifier matches what you're actually driving. Normal mode keeps noise low for sensitive IEMs, Turbo provides additional headroom for mid-sensitivity headphones, and Nitro unlocks the full 19.2V output for power-hungry designs. This lets you move between earphones and full-size headphones without compromising control or usable volume range.

iEMatch for sensitive earphones

A dedicated switch activates iFi’s iEMatch circuitry for high-sensitivity earphones. By reducing background noise and expanding usable volume travel, iEMatch helps IEMs sound cleaner and more controlled while avoiding sudden jumps in loudness.

xMEMS compatibility for next-generation drivers

The Diablo 2 supports xMEMS solid-state drivers, which require higher voltage than conventional dynamic or planar designs. Using the piezoelectric effect, xMEMS drivers convert electrical energy directly into mechanical motion through a silicon membrane. The Diablo 2 delivers the necessary voltage swing through its balanced output, allowing these ultra-thin drivers to operate as intended.

Bluetooth with lossless transmission

Bluetooth 5.4 support includes aptX Lossless alongside aptX Adaptive, LDAC, LHDC, AAC, and SBC. aptX Lossless delivers up to 1,200kbps when conditions allow, preserving more of the original signal than traditional Bluetooth codecs. This makes wireless listening viable when cables are not practical.

Balanced architecture and low distortion design

Inside, the Diablo 2 uses iFi’s PureWave fully balanced dual-mono circuitry to separate left and right channels and reduce noise. Servoless DirectDrive removes coupling capacitors from the signal path, while OptimaLoop applies tailored feedback paths to control gain and lower distortion. Advanced jitter reduction further stabilizes digital playback, contributing to low THD+N and a high SNR of ≥114dB(A).

Portable form with desktop flexibility

The chassis includes removable wings that let you position the Diablo 2 horizontally or vertically on a desk. Twenty-two cooling rails manage heat under high load, with eight rails designed to interface directly with the wings for stable desktop placement when used as a stationary DAC and amplifier.

Thoughtful front and rear controls

A volume lock switch on the front panel prevents accidental adjustments when the unit is in a bag or pocket. On the rear, a combined mode and Bluetooth switch simplifies operation, while dual USB-C ports separate audio and charging duties to keep cable routing clean.
