LADDER Boya Audio Interface
Femto clock USB audio interface
The LADDER Boya is a desktop USB digital audio interface (DDC) built to feed a cleaner, re-clocked digital signal to an external DAC. It takes USB 2.0 Type-B from your computer and outputs multiple digital formats—coax, optical, AES/EBU, and I2S—backed by FPGA DSP processing, FIFO buffering, and dual FEMTO clocks.
Make your computer a better digital source
If you listen from a PC, the Boya sits between your computer and DAC and handles the USB audio side with dedicated hardware. The goal is straightforward: stable data flow, clock recovery, and a regenerated digital output your DAC can lock to cleanly.
FIFO buffering and FPGA DSP processing
USB audio can arrive in bursts. Boya uses FIFO digital signal buffering and FPGA DSP processing to smooth the handoff, reduce timing irregularities, and keep the outgoing digital stream steady when your computer is doing computer things in the background.
Dual FEMTO clocks for re-clocking
The Boya re-clocks the outgoing signal with dual FEMTO oscillators: one for 44.1kHz and one for the 48kHz. That matters when you bounce between 44.1kHz music and 48kHz video because it means less clock confusion and fewer compromises.
External 45.1548MHz and 49.152MHz clock input
If you run a master clock, the Boya includes clock inputs for 45.1548MHz and 49.152MHz. In a clocked digital chain, that gives you a clear place to anchor timing across devices without forcing everything to free-run.
Outputs that match how your DAC actually connects
The Boya gives you multiple digital outs so you can use the connection your DAC performs best with: coaxial S/PDIF, optical TOSLink, AES/EBU, or I2S. It's useful if you own more than one DAC, swap gear often, or just want to compare inputs without rewiring your whole setup.
Windows driver support from Thesycon
For Windows, the Boya includes a licensed USB audio driver from Thesycon, which gives you stable USB audio performance, wide sample-rate support, and the kind of driver foundation you need when you're pushing high-rate PCM and DSD from a PC.
