New territory, new evolution

The SS-1 Pro is engineered specifically for high-fidelity streaming rather than general data routing. Its architecture focuses on the components that influence digital signal quality — regulated power, precise clocks, noise isolation, and passive thermal control. The result is a switch that supports streaming with consistent timing and reduced interference.

Higher speed, better performance

A high-speed circuit platform naturally carries lower timing error, even when transmitting below its maximum bandwidth. Running audio data within that broader stability margin yields steadier packet flow and fewer timing irregularities. The SS-1 Pro uses this principle to maintain a cleaner digital handoff.

Dual 10Gbps isolated ports

Two SFP/SFP+ ports support modules up to 10Gbps. You can install optical or RJ45 modules depending on your system needs. Using fiber provides complete electrical isolation between upstream network devices and your audio chain, preventing high-frequency noise from leaking through shared grounds.

Independent Ethernet sockets

The SS-1 Pro includes multiple 2.5Gbps ports and two 100Mbps ports intended for audio components. Running endpoints at 100Mbps can reduce bit-error risk during transmission. Each port uses a shielded metal-shelled transformer to block radio-frequency interference. Wider spacing helps when routing thicker cables in a clean, organized row.

External clock input and RF synthesizer

A femtosecond clock works with a high-precision ultralow phase-noise RF synthesizer to generate the reference signal for the main controller. The SS-1 Pro also accepts a 10MHz external clock. In that mode, the external reference feeds the DPLL, which outputs a synchronized, low-phase-noise signal for the controller. This keeps timing tight across the entire network path.

Configurable indicator LEDs

A rear-panel button disables the Ethernet port LEDs. In darker rooms, this keeps visual distractions low while the switch continues running silently in the background.

Linear power and silent cooling

A custom o-core toroidal transformer, high-speed Schottky diodes, and nearly 10,000 uF of audio-grade filtering capacitance form the first-stage supply. Six ultra-low-noise LDO regulators provide clean voltage rails for the clock and controller. A large passive heatsink handles thermal load without generating sound.

Precision and flexible chassis design

A CNC-machined aluminum chassis paired with a reinforced steel base keeps the SS-1 Pro solid and stable. It ships with four isolation feet, but the design allows quick conversion to a three-foot layout for alternate placement or tuning needs.
