Matrix TT-1 Digital Transport
Matrix Audio TT-1: a flexible, upgradable digital transport
The Matrix Audio TT-1 is a mid-range digital audio transport designed for systems that need cleaner digital output, flexible streaming, and room to grow. Built on the company’s core hardware platform with a new design language, dual femtosecond clocks, and extensive network support, it serves as a high-performance digital source for both audiophiles and advanced enthusiasts.
Inheriting and upgrading
The TT-1 introduces Matrix Audio’s updated family design and uses the same streaming hardware found across the M Series. With upgraded processing, improved display technology, and refinements throughout the internal architecture, the unit delivers a more responsive interface and a more capable digital backbone.
Continuous evolution, easier to use
MA Player OS and the MA Remote App provide a streamlined interface across iOS and Android devices. Whether controlling playback from a phone or a tablet, navigation remains smooth, intuitive, and consistent.
Unlimited resources at your fingertips
The TT-1 consolidates major high-resolution streaming platforms—TIDAL, Qobuz, HIGHRESAUDIO, and internet radio—into one integrated environment. Built-in access ensures fast, direct playback without relying on external streamers or apps.
Play your way
Support for Roon Ready, Audirvana, TIDAL Connect, Spotify Connect, AirPlay 2, QPlay, and UPnP/DLNA gives you complete freedom in how you stream. The device adapts to modern, hybrid listening systems where local, networked, and cloud content all coexist.
Enjoy local and cloud music
NAS drives can be mounted directly to the TT-1, allowing you to create a library sourced entirely from local storage. Cloud accounts such as Baidu Netdisk can also be mounted internally, keeping your remote files accessible within the same unified library.
Dual USB ports
Two USB 3.0 ports allow simultaneous connection of a USB storage drive and a USB CD drive. This makes it easy to browse files, play discs, or import content without constant re-plugging.
Manage music resources easily
The MA Remote App supports direct copying of files from external USB storage into the TT-1’s internal library. This keeps the workflow simple—no need for a computer in the transfer chain.
Beyond your expectations
Connecting a USB CD drive unlocks full CD playback and ripping. The TT-1 automatically retrieves metadata and album art, while the MA Remote App allows manual editing. CDs can be converted into high-resolution files and saved to internal storage without the need for an external computer.
SSD storage, fast and quiet
An NVMe slot on the underside of the unit supports internal SSD expansion. A dedicated, ultra-low-noise power supply isolates SSD activity for quieter operation than typical computer-based storage.
Shareable internal storage
Using the SMB protocol, computers on the same network can access the TT-1’s storage for easy file management. The unit can also function as a mini-NAS, allowing other streamers to play music stored internally.
Smart wake up and trigger control
The TT-1 can auto-wake when local or streaming playback begins, and can trigger downstream DACs or amplifiers through its rear trigger connection. The chain powers up automatically without manual switching.
Dual femtosecond clock
Two ultra-low-phase-noise femtosecond clocks—one for 44.1kHz families and one for 48kHz families—provide ultra-stable reference timing. Independent regulation and FPGA-controlled switching minimize jitter for cleaner digital output.
Multiple interfaces
Optical, coaxial, AES/EBU, and IIS-LVDS outputs cover a wide range of DAC and amplifier connections. Digital volume can be enabled if paired with active speakers, allowing the TT-1 to operate as a controller.
Dedicated interface for lossless audio
A purpose-built USB DAC output uses optimized impedance and noise-controlled circuitry to maintain signal integrity across the physical transmission layer, delivering bit-perfect digital output.
Flexible connection options
Wi-Fi 6 offers a convenient alternative to Ethernet when cabling is not possible. For highest stability during high-resolution streaming, a wired connection remains recommended.
Option for linear power
A dedicated DC input allows external linear power supplies to push the TT-1 to its full potential. When an external supply is present, the system automatically switches to it while retaining ground continuity. A built-in filter network and multiple low-noise LDO rails ensure clean, isolated power throughout the device.
