The MOONDROP EVO 2 is a true wireless ear-hook DAC and amplifier designed to bring Bluetooth connectivity, high-resolution codec support, DSP tuning, and extended battery life to compatible earphones. It combines a custom MOONDROP TWS-01 Bluetooth master chip with a high-efficiency Class-D digital amplifier, while support for LDAC, LHDC-V, LC3, and AAC gives you multiple transmission options across music, gaming, and everyday listening.

Custom Bluetooth architecture

The EVO 2 uses the MOONDROP TWS-01 custom Bluetooth master control chip alongside a Class-D digital power amplifier. The digital amplifier is designed for high output with low power consumption and operates at over 90% efficiency according to MOONDROP. Audio is passed between the master chip and amplifier through digital audio channels to help reduce internal interference.

Second-generation DSP tuning

MOONDROP’s second-generation online interactive DSP gives you a 10-band parametric equalizer for detailed frequency-response adjustment. You can reference frequency-response data, apply automatic tuning toward a target curve, save personalized configurations, and download shared tuning profiles through the MOONDROP app. Tuning configurations can also be shared through links.

High-resolution wireless codecs

The EVO 2 supports LDAC transmission up to 24-bit/96 kHz and LHDC-V transmission up to 24-bit/192 kHz. LHDC-V also supports adaptive transmission that can respond to signal strength, environmental interference, and device performance. Both codecs require compatible source hardware, and enabling them can increase power consumption.

LC3 and LE Audio

LC3 support brings compatibility with Bluetooth LE Audio on supported devices. Compared with classic Bluetooth transmission, LC3 is designed for lower latency while maintaining high-fidelity audio. MOONDROP notes that LC3 connects under a separate “LEA” device name and must be enabled manually through the app before use.

Low-latency game mode

A dedicated game mode targets 60 ms latency based on the Bluetooth chip specification. Four taps on either touch panel activate the mode, with repeated taps allowing you to move between gaming and music operation.

Beamforming microphones

Dual microphone arrays on each side use beamforming ENC to focus on directional voice pickup while reducing surrounding noise during calls. The microphone system is built into the ear-hook modules, keeping voice communication integrated with the wireless audio hardware.

Long battery life

The EVO 2 is rated for up to 15 hours of playback from the ear-hook modules, with the charging case providing an additional 45 hours for up to 60 hours of total use. MOONDROP’s battery test was performed with the ear hooks and case fully charged while playing AAC at 50% volume.

Protective charging case

The charging case uses a crush-proof and water-resistant design intended to protect against water, dust, and physical pressure. Its charging port sits inside the case, while a rotary pressure vent is designed to support operation in changing conditions. Felt and sponge inserts inside the case help protect the ear hooks from scratches and reduce movement during storage.

Replaceable connector design

The ear-hook connector can be removed and replaced, with MOONDROP planning separate FitEar and MMCX connector options. This gives the EVO 2 a path to work with additional compatible earphones without replacing the complete wireless ear-hook system.

Custom touch controls

Touch functions can be reassigned through the MOONDROP Link app, allowing supported tap commands to be configured around your preferred controls.
