66-Watt active desktop speakers

The Moondrop MM3A is a compact 3-inch active speaker system built for desktop listening, music production, and everyday multimedia use. Its two-way driver design combines a 0.65-inch silk-dome tweeter with a 3-inch aluminum concave-cone woofer, supported by horizontally opposed passive radiators for extended low-frequency response. Five connection modes, LDAC wireless audio, digital crossover processing, and adjustable PEQ give the MM3A a flexible platform for both critical listening and general desktop audio.

Compact acoustic design

The MM3A uses a 0.65-inch silk-dome tweeter and 3-inch aluminum concave-cone woofer in each speaker. Dual horizontally opposed 3-inch passive radiators support bass extension while keeping the enclosure compact. Moondrop specifies bass response down to 55Hz at -3dB and 50Hz at -6dB.

Low-distortion woofer construction

The 3-inch woofer uses a hidden inverted-R surround with a one-piece aluminum concave cone. Dual N52 neodymium magnets are integrated into a U-yoke structure, while an NBR rubber surround and DuPont CONEX spider support controlled voice-coil movement. Moondrop specifies distortion below 0.5% at 1kHz and 76dB.

66 watts of total amplification

A four-channel digital amplifier delivers up to 33W per channel, with 66W rated total power for the system. Maximum undistorted output is specified at 33W per channel with THD at or below 1%.

Digital crossover and DSP

The MM3A uses a fully digital DSP electronic crossover with a fourth-order filter design. Adaptive upsampling and digital filtering manage frequency distribution between the drivers, while a dynamic enhancement algorithm adjusts woofer behavior at lower listening levels.

Adjustable PEQ tuning

USB and Bluetooth modes support Moondrop’s second-generation online interactive DSP system. The PEQ interface provides control over filter type, frequency point, gain, and Q value, with the original frequency response available as a reference. Users can also upload and download approved tuning profiles through the associated tuning community.

Five connection modes

The MM3A supports Bluetooth, USB, 3.5mm AUX, optical, and coaxial inputs. A rear volume control provides independent speaker-level adjustment in USB-C, Bluetooth, and AUX modes. Bluetooth pairing can be initiated directly from the rear control panel.

LDAC wireless audio

LDAC support provides a higher-bandwidth Bluetooth option for compatible source devices. Bluetooth 6.0 is specified, with AAC available as an alternative when a more stable wireless connection is preferred.

Isolation pads included

Sponge damping pads are included for use beneath the speakers. They help reduce vibration transfer to a desk and can add a small amount of elevation or tilt for positioning. A dedicated metal lifting bracket is also available separately.
