Sale price$195.99 USD

Your Entry to Hi-Fi Amplification

The SMSL A300 is a dual-channel power amplifier. The most affordable of SMSL’s power amps, the A300 is a streamlined machine that shines where it matters most. It uses high-quality audiophile components and boasts must-have features like Bluetooth 5.0, a subwoofer pre-out, and dual or single channel modes.

Dual and BTL (single-channel)

Run the A300 in dual-channel or BTL (single-channel mode). In dual-channel mode, it runs two independent speakers at 165Wx2 (4Ω) / 85Wx2 (8Ω). In BTL (single-channel mode), it runs one large speaker at 330Wx1 (4-8Ω).

Add a subwoofer

Thanks to a built-in high-pass filter circuit, the A300 can filter out the subwoofer frequencies in your main speakers and send them to a subwoofer to form a 2.1 system. Just connect a subwoofer to the subwoofer signal pre-output, and you’re ready to roll.

Bluetooth 5.0

Stream music directly to the A300 from your phone, computer, tablet, or laptop with Bluetooth 5.0. With longer transmission distance and better sound quality, Bluetooth 5.0 lets you control the music from up to 800 feet away.

BLUETOOTH QUIT WORKING WITHIN A FEW WEEKS

"CHIFI GARBAGE"

— Lisa A. (1/5)

This amp is fun. Definitely worth the money.

"Honestly, I am really happy with this amp. I'm not really an audiophile, I just wanted some power for some new Klipsch speakers I purchased so I looked at a few websites and message boards to see what's available. The A300 seemed to have all the right specs at a really attractive price so, I took a leap and bought one about a month ago. The package shipped directly from somewhere in Asia, and it only took a few days to reach me north of Boston. I got regular tracking updates. The amp has an unassuming appearance. Its small, the size of a box of candy. The amp feels heavy for it's size. It was easy to set up and the instructions for different settings are easy to understand even for a boomer like me. I really like this thing. I really do. It's teaching me a lot about how to make old equipment (my 1978 NAD amp w/ 1980s Polk Speakers) complement these new components. It's really fun. It's making me think. What I have learned is that message boards and product reviews don't matter as much as getting a piece of equipment and trying it out in your place, with your music, on the settings you like. Today, I was rocking out to Rush, Future Islands, and Supermodel. Tweaking different settings while the music played. I hope I never totally master that. I hope I am forever messing with the settings to get the bongos just right in that Herbie Hancock song. My house is small so this powerful A300 and my new speakers make everything shake. I like that. Sure there is a little distortion at 95% volume, I'll figure out how to tweak that. I am very happy I found Apos, I am very happy I bought this amp. It's a great value and every day it puts a smile on my face. Definitely worth the money."

A 300 Soundstage Compared

"Compared the A300 is very good sound with plenty power. But a difference in sub out is disappointing. I started with the Loxjie A30 with multi-inputs, and sub-out to my Onkyo was potent, requiring attenuation on some musics. Then I got the Topping PA5 with no sub out and minimal input options. The A300 has so little sub-out power that the Onkyo needs to be full on. This means the sound signature is quite different from the Loxjie which is lovely through my DML panels and over-all dynamics seem diminished with the A300, producing more 2D feel rather than 3D sound stage. Nice but somewhat lacking."

Floor Noise

"My SMSL A300 came in the mail and I waited till 1:00AM to try and hear how much ZZZZZ noise there is when nothing is playing> The volume levels range from 0 to 60. -at dead silence my Db reader displays 47 dbs of silence in my apartment -I'm sitting 5 ft from my speakers at Volume level 30 I can hear the zzz in a dead silent room but it's faint -at volume level 45 this amp has a noticeable buzz -at volume level 50 its obvious there is loud buzzzing. my Db reader jumped from 47 Db to 50/52 dbs I have not played my speakers anything louder that Volume level 38 and honestly didn't notice the buzzing until I was alone in a quite home and purposely tried to hear for buzzing. In my opinion, this amp is pretty good for the money. the only thing I didn't like was the way the amp adjusted or increased the treble frequencies when I was messing with the onboard EQ. I used my MiniDSP to give my speakers that "AIR" feeling / basically bosting frequencies above 18Khz"
