Compact CD Player with XLR Outputs

The SMSL PL100 PRO is a compact CD player that also works as a small-footprint DAC and preamp. Built around dual Cirrus Logic CS43131 DAC chips, it provides analog outputs for balanced XLR and RCA analog, and optical/coaxial digital outputs for bit-stream passthrough. It features 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced headphone jacks on the front, a color display, and a full-function remote for day-to-day control.

Dual DAC decoding for clean playback

Inside the PL100 PRO are 2× Cirrus Logic CS43131 DAC chips, handling digital-to-analog conversion for its analog outputs. If you’re feeding powered speakers or an integrated amp, this is the part that turns CD audio into a line-level signal, delivering low measured distortion (THD+N 0.001%) and a strong noise floor spec (SNR 110dB) for quiet backgrounds at normal listening levels.

Headphone outputs that cover common cables

The front panel gives you both 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced headphone outputs, so you can plug in anything from earbuds to full-size headphones without adapters. 

Balanced and unbalanced analog outputs for speakers

On the back, you’ll find XLR balanced outputs alongside RCA outputs, which is perfect if you want a direct line to powered speakers or a longer cable run across a desk or shelf.

Preamp function with adjustable output volume

The PL100 PRO’s output volume is adjustable, so it can act as a basic preamp. It’s a great option for powered speakers, compact desktop rigs, or a simple living room setup.

Optical and coaxial bit-stream output for external DACs

If you already have a favorite DAC, the optical and coaxial digital outputs let the PL100 PRO send a direct digital signal onward: CD audio leaves the player as a digital stream so your external DAC can do the conversion, and the PL100 PRO stays focused on transport duties only. 

MP3 CDs for long playlists on one disc

The player supports MP3 format CDs with up to 200 tracks, which is handy when you want a single disc for background listening, long work sessions, or a weekend rotation.

Compact size that fits shelves and desktops

At 6.30 in × 1.75 in × 6.30 in (160 × 44.5 × 160mm), the PL100 PRO is easy to place where a full-width component won’t fit. It’s also designed to switch between horizontal and vertical placement, so you can save space on a bookshelf or keep it low-profile on a desk.

Color display and remote for simple control

The color display keeps basic playback info visible at a glance, and the included remote handles common commands like play/pause, track navigation, volume, and open/close.
