32-Band PEQ DAC with EQ Memory

The SMSL SU-1 DSP combines an AKM AK4493S DAC with 32-band parametric EQ, giving you control over the frequency response of your audio system. USB, optical, and coaxial inputs accommodate multiple digital sources, while the XMOS XU-316 processor supports USB playback up to 32-bit/768kHz PCM and DSD512. EQ memory retains your adjustments after power-off, and a compact aluminum chassis keeps its desktop footprint small.

Adjust the sound to your system

The SU-1 DSP’s 32-band parametric EQ lets you fine-tune frequency response to suit your headphones, speakers, and listening environment. Adjust bass weight, bring vocals forward, or reduce treble peak. EQ settings remain saved when the DAC powers off, so your tuning is ready for the next listening session.

AKM conversion with low distortion

An AKM AK4493S DAC handles digital-to-analog conversion, supported by an optimized circuit layout. SMSL specifies THD+N of 0.00013% (−117dB), with a signal-to-noise ratio and dynamic range of 121dB. The single-ended line output delivers 2.0Vrms for connection to an amplifier or powered speakers.

High-resolution playback over USB

The XMOS XU-316 processor supports PCM files up to 32-bit/768kHz and hardware decoding of DSD512 through USB. Optical and coaxial inputs accept PCM audio up to 24-bit/192kHz, providing additional connections for compatible digital sources.

Two precision clocks

Dual high-precision femtosecond crystal oscillators provide a low-phase-noise clock source for digital conversion. Their role is to minimize jitter, keeping conversion timing accurate.

Power directly from USB

The SU-1 DSP operates on USB power, with a filtering system designed to reduce power-supply noise and interference from connected devices. Power consumption stays below 5W during operation and below 0.1W in standby.

A compact aluminum chassis

The anodized CNC-machined aluminum alloy chassis measures just 3.78 × 1.06 × 3.07 inches (96 × 27 × 78mm). A wave-pattern front panel adds texture, while support for horizontal or vertical placement gives you flexibility on a crowded desk or shelf.
