The STAX SR-L500 is an open-back electrostatic earspeaker headphone with a thin-film diaphragm and stainless steel fixed electrodes. Its driver design delivers deep bass, a smooth midrange, and delicate high frequencies in a balanced presentation. A 10-position headband, synthetic leather earpads, and low-capacitance HiFC copper cable support comfortable listening and excellent signal transmission.

A thin-film diaphragm for balanced reproduction

The SR-L500 pairs a hand-selected thin-film diaphragm with rigid stainless steel fixed electrodes. These components form the electrostatic driver, supporting a presentation that gives bass depth, vocal texture, and high-frequency detail room to be heard. Its specified frequency response extends from 7Hz to 41kHz.

Ten positions to find your fit

The headband uses the 10-click height adjustment mechanism adopted from the STAX SR-009 and SR-507. Each position holds securely once selected, helping you maintain a consistent fit between listening sessions. Adjust the head pad height to place the earcups comfortably around your ears.

HiFC copper in a low-capacitance cable

Developed by Hitachi, HiFC copper forms the cable’s conductors. The six-strand parallel cable uses a flat, wide arrangement to reduce capacitance between the wires, providing a structure suited to driving an electrostatic earspeaker. Its 8.2-foot (2.5m) length gives you room to sit comfortably beside your amplifier.

Synthetic leather pads for extended listening

Handcrafted synthetic leather earpads provide a comfortable contact surface while supporting the headphone’s acoustic performance. Together with the adjustable headband, they help keep the SR-L500 comfortably positioned through longer albums and listening sessions.
