The TOPPING G5 is a DAC/Amp that packs TOPPING’s classic NFCA architecture into a portable package. With 24-bit Bluetooth audio and top-of-the-line specs, it’s an ideal unit for audiophiles and enthusiasts alike.

Built-in NFCA headphone amp

The G5 uses an NFCA module specially developed for portable devices. It achieves an output power of 1200mW x 2, THD+N of 0.00007%, and an output impedance of <0.1Ω.

24bit hi-def Bluetooth

The G5 is certified Hi-Res Audio Wireless. It uses the newest Qualcomm QCC5125 chipset, which supports 24-bit/96kHz Bluetooth formats like LDAC and aptX HD.

Plug and play

Plug and play the G5 with devices running Windows 10 (or above), Mac, Linux, iOS, or Android. The G5 is powered by a built-in 4000mAh battery, so it won’t drain your portable device’s battery.

Aluminum + leather

Simply powerful, but maybe too simple!

"I love this unit! The sound is transparent and clean. I set it to high gain mode and drive the DCA E3’s. I don't listen very loud so it lasts about 5-6hrs (similar to what they mention online). It does a great job being a small powerful amp. However, while the sound performance is great, it lacks features related to charging. There is only a small LED which shows battery life, and no indication of 30% or 80% battery. I don't like this as many people have problems with their batteries swelling, which has not happened to me. However, I did purchase a small unit smart plug (tp link tapo) that automatically turns off the charging once the battery reaches around 80%. This helps extend the battery life and hopefully avoid future swelling. 8/10, -2 point deducted for the lack of features and technology related to charging. Also, this does not have a “desktop mode” so the battery drives it 24/7."

Steal of the century, this measures and sounds like separates.

Using a PC as a source for both cases. There was only a very small difference in the top end between the G5 and the Desktop amp. The desktop amp was a bit airier, but its minimal. However, everywhere else they are almost identical. It has slamming bass, smooth mids, and crispy highs. Plus you can take it with you. Currently using it exclusively as a DAC with the THX amp. However, for travel its coming with me and stretching its amps legs. It has power to spare too. Drives my 8ohm Verum 1 MKII to uncomfortably loud and distortion free levels. Sounds like separates, but fits in your pocket. What a steal."

"DAC/Bluetooth mode Failed after a few hours of use on 2st day I received it. Works only in line in line out amplifier mode. Email customer service with Topping and APOS unable to help troubleshoot. Has constant red light when in Bluetooth mode."

"DAC/Amp is worth every penny. Very low noise, can drive high impedance headphones, and easily fits in a back back. Would be nice to have some pause/play/skip buttons but maybe that will show up on the next iteration."

A solid chunk of Aluminum, Relays, and Battery!

"My first impression was this thing is a chunk! its a bit bigger than my Pixel 6 and thicker with my phone case on. Its got some weight to it and feels really solid. The design feels like it is from an alternate 1970's timeline and it has a very timeless look to it. As far as audio performance, its transparent compared to my DX5. Power output was an issue with my Fostex T60-rp I could get the amp to distort at high gain at 10 o'clock For everything with reasonable sensitivity there's plenty of power to give your self hearing damage in high-fidelity. ;) Compared to my BTR5 this is an enthusiast device. I don't think I would travel in public with this on a daily basis. As far as PEQ functionality I think we should be ( as a community) pushing Apple and Google to implement it on the OS level. This is a best portable device right now if audio quality is your goal. Now Topping just needs a power amp with a built in power supply ;).Thank you Topping and to everyone at the factory who was under lockdown, and Apos who where fantastic in providing updates. They made it right with me even though it was way out of there control."
