The YULONG D39 is a network-enabled DAC built around the company's seventh-generation JIC processor and the flagship ESS9039PRO chip. It’s designed for listeners who want high-resolution streaming, USB audio, and digital inputs—all handled by an efficient, quiet, Linux-based system. Dual toroidal transformers, a femtosecond clock, and flexible output options make it equally suited for desktop and speaker systems. 

Seventh-generation JIC processing

The D39 uses YULONG’s latest JIC processor—short for Jitter and Interface Control. This isn’t just a marketing term. It’s a full-blown digital signal platform with an FPGA core that handles USB decoding, SPDIF demodulation, FIFO buffering, and PLL synchronization all in hardware. The benefit is less jitter, more precise timing, and better sound from every input.

Network streaming without the noise

Unlike many streamers that depend on general-purpose computers or noisy USB interfaces, the D39 uses a dedicated dual-core processor running a custom Linux core. All networking, streaming protocols, and digital audio processing are handled internally. That means cleaner signal paths, less noise, and reliable playback across platforms like Airplay2, DLNA, LMS, Squeezelite, Roon Bridge, Daphile, HQ NAA, and Spotify.

ESS9039PRO DAC with bypassable ASRC

The D39 uses the ESS9039PRO DAC in synchronous mode, allowing you to bypass its internal ASRC (asynchronous sample rate converter) and decode native audio sample rates directly. The analog section is powered by a dedicated linear supply with low-noise voltage regulation, maintaining signal integrity through the RCA and XLR outputs.

FPGA-based USB interface

Instead of relying on third-party USB solutions, YULONG built their own: a pure hardware USB interface using FPGA and ULPI. This design bypasses the operating system’s audio stack and avoids software bottlenecks. It supports up to PCM768kHz and native DSD1024. The result is faster signal response, lower latency, and more faithful playback.

Clock sync and word clock I/O

The D39 features both word clock input and output, giving you the option to sync your entire system to a master clock—or let the D39 act as one. This helps reduce clock drift across components and maintain phase coherence in complex systems.

Two transformers, zero compromises

A pair of toroidal transformers supply completely independent power to the digital and analog sections. This physical separation eliminates cross-talk between the processing and output stages. The CPU, USB, clock, PLL, and display each get individually regulated power rails.

Balanced and single-ended output with selectable gain

Both XLR and RCA outputs are onboard, and the D39 lets you adjust output level in two stages to better match your system. Whether you’re feeding a power amp, active speakers, or a headphone amp, you’ll get the voltage swing and headroom you need.

Designed for the A39—but built for any system

The chassis design matches the YULONG A39 amplifier and preamp for those building a stack. But even on its own, the D39’s CNC-machined aluminum enclosure, anti-vibration feet, and IPS LCD screen make it a strong visual and functional anchor for any desktop system.

Spectrum display and simple controls

The front panel screen shows dynamic signal levels, a retro-style VU meter, and customizable UI elements. Everything’s controlled by a single knob or included remote.
