Rediscover your local stations with the FiiO RR13

The FiiO RR13 is a handheld FM radio with a Silicon Labs Si4831 receiver, a built-in five-magnet speaker, and headphone connectivity. Mechanical tuning and a frequency dial give you a nostalgic way of finding local music in a compact, rechargeable device. 

Local radio with mechanical tuning

The Si4831 receives FM broadcasts across the standard 87–108MHz band and Japan’s 76–90MHz band. The RR13 refines the analog tuning mechanism used in the RR11 with a revised roller, gear, and rack structure. An updated gear ratio makes adjustments smoother and more precise as you turn the control to locate a station.

A custom internal antenna supports everyday reception. When reception needs additional support, the included telescopic antenna connects through a 3.5mm connection. Connected headphones can also improve reception sensitivity.

Speaker and headphone listening

An ultra-thin five-magnet speaker and dual independent amplifiers provide playback without headphones, whether the radio is on a desk or moving around the house with you. Connect headphones for private listening, and use the 30- or 60-minute sleep timer to stop playback automatically.

FiiO’s custom DDB AS100 analog audio and amplifier chip provides selectable BASS and 3D sound effects. These let you add low-frequency emphasis or a greater sense of space to the audio.

Amplification for external sources

The RR13 also functions as a headphone amplifier when connected to a compatible source through a digital-to-analog audio adapter cable. In this mode, it can apply its DDB analog sound effects to music and internet radio from an external device. FiiO’s TRUST series Type-C to Type-C digital-to-analog audio cable is available separately.

Headphone amplifier mode delivers at least 80mW per channel into 32Ω, with an output impedance below 1Ω. Battery life through headphones reaches at least 18 hours in this mode.

A rechargeable, swappable battery

The 450mAh battery provides approximately seven hours of FM listening through headphones or four hours through the speaker at the default volume. USB-C charging takes approximately two hours. Actual listening time varies with operating conditions.

The battery is replaceable, allowing a compatible spare to extend listening time. It is a custom 10440 lithium battery with an integrated protection board and a non-standard 44mm length. Contact FiiO customer support for a compatible replacement.

Compact construction in four finishes

An aluminum alloy front panel and AG glass back cover house the radio’s controls and circuitry. The RR13 weighs approximately 2.68 oz (76g) and measures 1.71 × 3.37 × 0.65 inches (43.4 × 85.6 × 16.4mm). Finish options include retro gold, black, red, and silver.
