iFi UP Travel MAX Connects Your Bluetooth Headphones to In-Flight Entertainment

The iFi UP Travel MAX is a Bluetooth adapter that connects your wireless headphones to in-flight entertainment and adds Bluetooth reception to a car stereo. Transmitter and receiver modes let it handle either end of a wireless connection, with support for aptX Lossless, LDAC, and LHDC on compatible devices. Dual-headphone pairing, JVCKENWOOD K2 processing, and a microphone with echo suppression round out its features for travel and everyday listening.

Connect your headphones to in-flight entertainment

In transmitter mode, the UP Travel MAX takes audio from a 3.5mm AUX or USB-C source and sends it to your Bluetooth headphones. That lets you use your own wireless headphones with an airplane’s entertainment system. An included airplane headphone socket adapter accommodates compatible aircraft connections.

You can also pair two Bluetooth headphones simultaneously, allowing two people to listen to the same movie, show, or playlist through their own headphones.

Add Bluetooth reception to your car stereo

Receiver mode reverses the signal path: the UP Travel MAX receives Bluetooth audio from your phone and sends it to a car stereo through a 3.5mm AUX connection. A built-in microphone supports calls, with echo suppression to reduce echo during conversations.

Codec support depends on the connection

The UP Travel MAX supports aptX Lossless, LDAC, and LHDC, offering several options for high-quality Bluetooth transmission. The available codec depends on the operating mode and the capabilities of the devices at both ends of the connection. aptX Lossless requires compatible devices, and lossless operation also depends on connection conditions.

K2 digital audio processing

JVCKENWOOD’s K2 Technology provides an additional digital processing option. Designed to restore detail lost during digital audio processing, K2 complements the adapter’s Bluetooth codec support.
